As we celebrate 20 years of The Flat, I’m excited to present a five-day program that reflects the spirit and community that have carried us this far. Beginning Tuesday, October 14, we open with daytime sessions at Sunny Coffee and an evening featuring DJ Archaik, Lightyears Wine, and DJ Saltz, paired with dinner and wine specials.
On Wednesday, we expand to Hotel Saint Augustine for a ‘Drop the Needle’ session with The Flat DJs before returning home to host Houston’s longest-running reggae night with Flabba Dabba and King Fari.
Thursday brings Morgan Morgan’s Bassment with special guest Demuir, one of Chicago’s most respected house producers, with support from our sponsor Iron Root Whiskey.
Friday will carry us from morning into night, with DJ Saltz and guest barista Matt Toomey of Little Dreamer Coffee setting the tone, followed by live jazz from Houston Ensemble, Saint.Izmael with The Layover, and our signature Flight 1701 showcase featuring Beat Sicarios and special guests.
Saturday is about community. We’ll host Montrose Community Day with Art League Houston, bringing together artists and creatives including Jackson Allers, Phthalo, and John O’Dowd, alongside music from myself and friends. The evening continues with Sora from Chris Ryo and Giovani, a Special Edition set from Doc Guava, and a finale featuring Malcolm Bravo, Giovani, Amanda Robinson, and me.
I’m grateful to our partners—Iron Root Whiskey, Little Dreamer Coffee, Art League Houston, LightYears Wine, Casamigos, Ketel One, Don Londres, Knives in Water, and Ice House Radio—for supporting this milestone. Most of all, I’m thankful to the artists, staff, and community that have shaped The Flat into what it is today. This week is a celebration of two decades of music, culture, and connection, and an invitation to carry that energy into the future. We hope to see you there.
