At a time of heightened geopolitical tensions, trade policy has become a central tool of national strategy. How the United States navigates this moment will shape its global standing for decades to come.
At this event, part of the Shell Distinguished Lecture Series, former president of the World Bank and U.S. trade representative, Robert B. Zoellick, will join the director of the Center for Tax and Budget Policy, John Diamond, for a conversation on the future of global trade and U.S. economic strategy. Drawing on decades of experience at the highest levels of international economic policy, Zoellick will offer insights into the shifting landscape of global commerce, the evolving role of U.S. trade leadership, and the challenges posed by rising protectionism, strategic competition, and institutional change. The conversation will examine the intersection of trade, diplomacy, and national security in an era of geopolitical uncertainty. The program will include a student reception, an armchair discussion, and a curated Q&A.
This event is free and open to the public.
