About the event

HOW DO CRAFT MUSEUMS MAKE HISTORY?
Houston Center for Contemporary Craft presents a lecture by eminent craft scholar Namita Gupta Wiggers, offering insights from her forthcoming book, "Which Craft? How Craft Exhibitions Make History."

Drawing on her years as Director and Chief Curator at Museum of Contemporary Craft, Portland, Oregon and research conducted as a Smithsonian American Art Museum Institution Senior Fellow, Wiggers examines two decades of curatorial practice, institutional shifts, and the exhibitions that have shaped the field of contemporary craft in the United States.
