Alejandro Escovedo’s new album Echo Dancing reimagines songs from across his career, turning past work into a fresh creative adventure. Known for his ability to cross genres with ease, Escovedo approaches this project as a chance to reinterpret his history and reveal new layers within familiar material. Recorded in Italy with Don Antonio and Nicola Peruch, the sessions opened unexpected directions and gave each song a renewed spirit.

Throughout Echo Dancing, classics like Bury Me and Castañuelas gain new power, showing how Escovedo’s writing continues to evolve. His lifelong commitment to exploration, from punk beginnings with The Nuns to his role in Austin’s influential True Believers and his acclaimed solo career, has shaped a body of work that never stands still. Named Artist of the Decade by No Depression in 1998, he has continued to push boundaries and reinvent his sound well into the twenty first century.

Escovedo credits his collaborators for helping spark new ideas, along with the wide range of artists who have inspired him. For him, the creative journey never ends. Echo Dancing celebrates that ongoing search, proving that old songs can carry new meaning and that his artistic circle continues to grow.
