For the grand opening of Hopkinsville’s Downtown Entertainment
District, the Pennyroyal Arts Council, in partnership with Charlotte’s on 6th women’s clothing boutique, invites the community to experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of Spain at La Rambla Nights on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the beautifully lit alley beside the historic Alhambra Theatre in downtown Hopkinsville.
This event is named after La Rambla, the world-famous boulevard in Barcelona where artists, musicians, and performers have gathered for centuries. This event celebrates the spirit of artistic
expression while honoring the Alhambra Theatre’s own Spanish heritage—its name inspired by the Alhambra Palace in Granada. A true promenade, La Rambla is lined with trees and lamp
posts—an elegant thoroughfare for public life. It is Barcelona’s social and cultural artery, home to theaters, cafés, flower stalls, and civic celebrations. Spanish artists Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró both spent time near La Rambla in their youth, and the street’s artistic atmosphere shaped many Catalan and Spanish artists’ careers. It’s known for its lively mix of locals and
tourists, human statues, newsstands, street art, and cultural venues…much like our own Downtown Entertainment District!
On Saturday, August 23rd , Guests will enjoy:
🎻Live Violin Performance — A strolling violinist will provide an enchanting soundtrack
for the evening.
🍷Spanish Wine Tasting — The wine-tasting experience facilitated by the Spirit Society
of Hopkinsville, offering guests the chance to savor Spanish wines and learn about their
origins.
🎨Community Art Experience — Paintings on large canvases will be started by the Pennyroyal Arts Council team and then opened up for the community to add their own
artistic touches. These collaborative works will hopefully later travel to local businesses
for public display.
Wine Tasting Registration Details:
The wine-tasting portion is limited to 30 registered guests for the first hour. Registered patrons should arrive between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM to ensure the wine supply is sufficient to serve them. Wine tasting is not guaranteed after 7:00 PM.

La Rambla Nights is free to attend and open to all ages.
Must be age 21 and over for the wine tasting.
