No matter what the circumstances, grief can be a painful, confusing, lonely process. But, we’re here to tell you there is hope!
Once again, Hoosick Falls Community Alliance Church will be hosting GriefShare, a 13-week faith-based grief recovery program. Meetings will be held from on Tuesdays, 6-7:45 PM, from September 23 through December 16.
GriefShare is a safe, welcoming grief recovery program where participants understand the tangled web of emotions that those who have lost loved ones are experiencing. Participants will discover what to expect in the days and months ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.
At each meeting, you will view a video on grief-related topics featuring respected counselors, pastors, and healthcare professionals, plus you’ll hear relatable personal stories. Small-group discussion allows participants time to share, support one another, and personally apply what they learned in the video. At no time is anyone required to speak.
Participants each receive a workbook filled with valuable exercises for navigating their personal grieving process. Topics include how to manage emotions such as loneliness, anxiety, sadness, anger, and regret; how to cope with the changes in your life and relationships; how to recognize what’s normal in grief; and what to do if you feel stuck or hopeless.
GriefShare participants repeatedly share that they feel comforted, encouraged, and strengthened by being in a place where others truly understand what they’re going through. If you or someone you know is grieving the loss of a loved, we encourage you to join us for our fall session.
HFCAC is located at 484 Hill Road, Hoosick Falls. Suggested donation to cover the workbook is $20, but scholarships are available for those who might find this a hardship. For more details and to register for a group, visit
