In this class, you will learn a basic method for eco-printing on silk while creating your very own unique botanical silk scarf (scarf dimensions: 11x60"). Eco-printing is a natural dyeing technique used to transfer the pigments and shapes of plants onto fabric. Experiment with pre-picked plants from the Lyon Arboretum garden (or bring your own!) to see which plants work best!
About your instructor: Jena Hayama (aka J. Tanuki) is a "dye explorer" who experiments with locally grown plants in Hawaiʻi to dye fibers and make clothes, among other things.
