Captain’s Bar Takeover by Jigger & Pony

On 7 October Captain’s Bar a Hong Kong institution for more than 60 years will welcome Jigger & Pony Singapore’s most celebrated cocktail destination. Ranked #5 on The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024 and #3 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 Jigger & Pony has become a global benchmark for contemporary cocktail culture. Captain’s Bar known for its timeless elegance is the only venue in Hong Kong to serve draught beer in silver tankards alongside some of the city’s finest cocktails making it a must-visit after-work gathering place.
 
The takeover will be led by Uno Jang Creative Director of Jigger & Pony Group and winner of the Altos Bartenders’ Bartender Award 2025 the only peer-voted accolade in The World’s 50 Best Bars programme. Known for his technique-driven creativity and drinks like the Korean Boilermaker Jang brings an engineer’s precision to cocktail craft while mentoring the next generation of bartenders.
 
Joining him is Saverio Casella Principal Bartender whose Sicilian roots and training across Italy France and the UK inform his convivial guest-focused style. Saverio’s cocktails are designed to evoke emotion with a love for timeless classics such as the Martini and Negroni that he reinterprets with nuance and flair. They will be joined by Betty Sim adding to the team’s diverse perspectives and energy.
 
Guests will be able to experience 4 cocktails from Jigger & Pony’s acclaimed EMBRACE menuzine a 21- cocktail collection built around themes of Embrace Change Embrace Tradition and Embrace You. Expect creations such as Basil Smash with orchid white tea and pesto for a refreshing cocktail and classic cocktails such as Espresso Martini and Apple Sazerac Soda.
 
For one afternoon only Hong Kong guests can enjoy Jigger & Pony’s award-winning hospitality within the iconic setting of Captain’s Bar accompanied by live jazz music and complimentary snacks. Cocktails will be priced at HKD170+10%. Admission will be first come first served.
