This seminar, led by Professor Benoit Guénard, researcher and Director of the Museum of Biodiversity (University of Hong Kong), invites you to discover the fascinating world of insects and their cognitive and behavioural capacities. From the complex cooperation of ants to the camouflage strategies of stick insects, from the memory of bees to the navigation of beetles, insects deploy ingenious solutions to survive, communicate and adapt to their environment. Through concrete examples and recent scientific discoveries, this seminar highlights the intelligence of these creatures, and encourages us to rethink our preconceived ideas about what it means to be “intelligent” in the animal world.
*If you’re going to the talk, you can also sign up for ’Meet Your Neighbours’. Guided Tour with Professor Benoit Guénard after the talk (limited capacity: 20 people)
