Save Our Waters Week – Join Us at Blue Bird Springs Park!
Parks and Recreation is teaming up with Keep Citrus County Beautiful for Save Our Waters Week to raise awareness about the importance of keeping our springs and estuaries clean.
When: Tuesday, September 23 • 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Where: Bluebird Springs Park 8950 W. Bluebird Springs Lane, Homosassa
Come explore, learn, and get creative with fun activities for all ages!
Learn & Discover Stations
•Macroinvertebrate Discovery:
Peek through microscopes to see what tiny creatures live in our waterways!
•Aquatic Species Education:
Discover some of the amazing animals that rely on clean water to survive.
•Creative Stations
Water-Themed Sidewalk Chalk Art:
Kids can create sidewalk messages like “Don’t Pollute!” or “Every Drop Counts!”
Chalk Mural:
Add your art and snap a selfie in front of the mural!
Activity
•“Water Warriors” Scavenger Hunt:
Search for signs of clean and dirty water, nature helpers, and water-saving actions—and earn your Water Warrior badge!
Beautification Projects – Give a Hand!
Join us in cleaning up Blue Bird Springs Park. Help remove litter and debris around the spring to make it a cleaner, safer place for wildlife and visitors. Gloves and bags will be provided.
Let’s celebrate and protect our waterways—every drop counts!
* During this event, it is recommended to bring plenty of water, bug spray, and any necessities you might need. Craft activities are available while supplies last.
