A stroll to the local pub or brewery is a tradition as old as time…
In collaboration with Taps & Corks Tours:
As fall temperatures begin to descend on the Triangle, we’ll revisit one of our longer walking tours in Holly Springs. We’ll start the tour at Bombshell Beer Co., the state’s first women-owned brewery, where we’ll sample several beers. This time of year, there will certainly be an ACC football game on the big screens.
Next, we’ll walk about a mile through downtown Holly Springs to Local Time Brewing, located in the town’s thriving downtown area. Along the way, we’ll stop at two pre-Civil War historic sites to discover more about the history of Holly Springs and what makes this such a vibrant small community today. After our beer sampling is over, you may choose to hang out a bit at the restaurants and shops downtown.
Do you know what historical figure said, “Hops is a wicked and pernicious W**d”? This is one of our beer quiz questions that you’ll hear during the tour. Find out the answer, and you’ll be able to correctly answer at least one of the questions!
Your guide for the afternoon will be Natalie Hampton, founder of Taps & Corks Tours. Natalie has been writing about North Carolina beer and wine for 12 years on the Tarheel Taps & Corks blog. She enjoys sharing her passion for North Carolina beer through walking tours and always looks forward to seasonal beers and ciders!
*Must be 21 to participate. Tour is rain or shine. Wear good shoes for walking and clothing appropriate for the weather. The walking distance between the breweries is approximately one mile, although you may choose to park a car at both sites to eliminate the need to walk back after the tour.
