The winter holiday season is a time to celebrate with traditional foods and drinks — from gingerbread to fruit bread to eggnog. While every family and region adds its own unique twist, eggnog traces its roots back to the earliest days of our nation.
But what exactly is eggnog? There’s no single recipe, yet most versions share the same core ingredients: eggs, cream or milk, sugar, and a touch of alcohol — often flavored with spices like nutmeg, mace, and cinnamon.
We invite you to join our holiday Scholars creator team — Sally, Allan, and Shawn — for an evening that blends delectable flavors with fascinating history. They’ve delved into eggnog’s evolution, from its medieval origins to its modern interpretations. And of course, we’ll be tasting a few homemade varieties along the way! Enjoy samples of the Shanghai, the Ice Cream, and even a non-dairy version during this special holiday Scholars event. Please join us for a festive and flavorful celebration!
