Cultivate an emerald carpet and unique plant community in your own space. Learn the structure and life cycle of mosses and discuss the benefits of encouraging a moss garden. Discuss how to select, collect, and grow moss. Visit Mt. Cuba’s moss bank, a luxurious carpet of soft green moss and unique plant community with the instructors. Take home a moss sample to nurture in a container or your garden.
This program takes place in-person at Mt. Cuba Center Saturday, October 11, 2025.
About the Instructor:
Trevor Schulte is a Horticulturist at the Morris Arboretum and Gardens. He has his BS in Environmental Horticulture from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville. He completed internships at Mt Cuba Center and Chanticleer. He loves to explore unique plant communities like the pine barrens in New Jersey.
