Our afternoons sessions will cover:
🧘 - Somatic Meditation
A somatic awareness meditation pays mindful and non-judgmental attention to the physical sensations, movements, and signals within your body. Acting as a mindful body scan, it supports recognition of emotions and experiences within the body, and points to how they manifest physically - This session will lead to an insight into how we use our sensations, movements and facial expression as both communicators to the outside world, and as a feedback loop into understanding our own personal narratives.
💃🏻🕺🏾 - Dance/Movement Session
A deeper look into how our wider movements and navigation around the world, are an interpretation of our personal wants, needs, and stories. We will embrace somatic movements for a more thorough understanding.
🎨 - 'Personal Narrative’ focused therapeutic art
📝 - 'Personal Narrative' focused creative writing
A combination of art and writing will form the basis for a session creating a unique piece of work which will allow you to focus on personal life narratives, or single events from a a particular time period. - This session will open up opportunities to understand or reframe this personal narratives with more clarity.
All materials will be provided - Please feel free to bring your own as well
🎭 - Drama Focused Session: Expression + Voicing Narratives
All of our sessions will work towards our last focus of aiming towards an expression of our personal narrative. Drama - based activities will support us in 'performing' the narrative we have workshopped, in a comfortable and transformative way, utilising mediums such as voice, sound, music, dance, movements, monologues, storytelling, props and costume
Props, instruments, and costume options will be provided - Please feel free to bring along significant items you may like to work with.
