This unique course offers you the opportunity to delve deeply into the vibrant world of Balkan folk traditions. Explore multicultural melodies, master complex rhythms, and learn traditional dance steps that will get your feet tapping! You'll study Yugoslavian folk dances, learn accompaniment patterns, and even perform together during a special Sunday lunch session.
The weekend kicks off with a spectacular Friday evening performance by The Magic Violin Trio, with a special invitation for course participants to join in on some pieces!
Who is this for? If you play any pitched instrument (guitars, mandolins, ouds, bowed/plucked strings, wind instruments), or can handle rhythmic and chord-based accompaniments, you're welcome! Tunes will be learned by ear, with sheet music provided as a guide for rich embellishment and phrasing.
