About this Event

LESSONS FROM THE TALL CHAIR: The Art + Neuroscience of Great Teaming

Whether you lead a team or simply want to be a better teammate, this one-day immersive workshop will help you design the conditions where courage, calm, and collective intelligence thrive — every time.

  • 1 workbook
  • 1 day
  • 1 focus on team transormation
  • 2 follow-up Group Zoom Coaching + Accountability calls that help you soar

Blending practical frameworks, neuroscience, and reflective practice, you’ll learn how to:

  • Build psychological safety by design, not by default
  • Turn tension and silence into trust and connection
  • Lead with calm authority under pressure

Your facilitator Mary Lou Tierney, MS, brings 20+ years of experience guiding teams at Amgen, Intuit, MITRE, and Northeastern.

The day includes a custom reflection workbook, a nourishing lunch, and (weather permitting) a guided walk through the Abbey’s peaceful labyrinth.

🕘 9 AM – 3 PM | Glastonbury Abbey, Hingham, MA
💵 $75 per person | Lunch + Two Follow-Up Group Coaching Calls Included

Note: This is a secular, inclusive program held in a serene Abbey setting that welcomes all backgrounds.

Info: The morning filled your head, and lunch filled your body.

Now it’s time to make space — to pause, breathe, and connect insight with movement in nature and stillness from distraction.

This reflective, guided walk helps leaders experience solitude of thought (different from isolation) and re-center before crafting what they envision for their teams. ***If the weather shifts, we simply shift with it — moving indoors for a quiet reflection experience that invites the same insight and renewal. Rain just changes the path, not the purpose.

🕑: 02:30 PM - 03:00 PM
Insight → Action Planning

Info: Insight to Action: Putting It Into Practice

This is an Insight-to-Action workshop — because learning without application changes nothing.

What matters most is that you can apply what you’ve learned.

You’ll identify one or two practical shifts to implement over the next 90 days, and the two follow-up Zoom calls are intentionally designed to support you in making those changes real.

🕑: 03:00 PM - 03:15 PM
Closing + Follow-Up

Info: A final moment of gratitude, reflection, and connection.

We’ll wrap up with key takeaways and details for the two post-workshop group Zoom calls designed to support your 90-day action plan.

🕑: 03:15 PM - 04:00 PM
BONUS Notes

Info: ☀️ Sunset 5:46 PM EDT — Take a few quiet moments to walk the Abbey grounds and let the day settle in.

? The Abbey Bookstore closes at 4:00 PM.
