Sparrow Fest !!!

Come celebrate fall migration with Braddock Bay Bird Observatory!

Each year, thousands of migratory birds funnel through the Braddock Bay area, and we invite you to join us for an up-close look at some of the birds passing through. Stop in any time from 9:00 - 11:00 to:


* Watch skilled bird banders in action as they safely capture, band, and release birds as part of a long-term research project

* Learn about migration, the birds, and how banding supports bird conservation

* Enjoy family-friendly activities

This event will be cancelled in case of inclement weather (high winds or persistent rain); we will post cancellations on this page, but you can also call the station at 585-227-3490 the morning of the event if you want to double check if we are operating.

Note that parking in our lot is limited, but guests are welcome to park on the street just outside the entrance to the observatory. We request that you refrain from pulling off on anyone's lawn.
