The inspiration for this Fire Ceremony comes from Ram Dass’s Grist for the Mill — the teaching that everything in life, both the joys and the burdens, can be offered back to the Guru. Maharajji showed us that all is grist for the mill of awakening, and when we place it at His feet, nothing is wasted. This particular evening also carries powerful significance: 9/9/2025 is a rare 9-9-9 gateway (9 + 9 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 5 = 27 → 9). In numerology, 9 represents completion, release, and seva. It is the number of surrender — placing everything at the feet of the Divine — and is also connected to Hanuman’s courage and selfless devotion. On this day, the vibration of letting go is amplified. In that spirit, this Hawan is a sacred opportunity to release and surrender — to place our desires, attachments, and struggles into the fire as offerings. Together we will pray:“Take it, Maharajji. Take it, Hanuman. Take it, all of it. May nothing stand between us and You.”We are deeply honored that Sadananda and Alakananda Ma from Alandi Ashram, Boulder will be guiding us in this sacred fire ritual: • Alakananda Ma is an internationally respected Ayurvedic teacher and practitioner, founder of Alandi Ayurveda Gurukula, and has been practicing and teaching Ayurveda since 1988. • Sadananda attended Ram Dass’s very first lecture at Naropa, later studied with Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and after seven years as a barefoot pilgrim in India, became a disciple of Raghudas Maharaj. He also studied with Father Bede Griffiths, Nisargadatta Maharaj, J. Krishnamurti, and Anandamayi Ma. #neemkarolibaba #bhakti #fireceremony #hawan #ramdass
