Safety isn’t just about being careful - it’s about being ready.
At this women-led seminar at Fathom BJJ, you’ll learn how to set boundaries, recognize red flags, and back it up with real, hands-on skills.
We’ll talk honestly about self-defense, whether it's navigating dating and social situations, calling out bad behavior, or spotting manipulation before it escalates. Then we’ll hit the mats to train the physical side: breaking free from holds, escaping dangerous situations, and, if necessary, shutting down an attacker with proven techniques from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Here’s what you’ll learn:
• Situational Awareness: How to avoid becoming a target
• Boundaries: Speaking up, shutting down bad behavior, and trusting your instincts
• Red Flags: Recognizing unsafe dynamics in dating, social, and everyday settings
• Escapes: Getting free from grabs, pins, and holds
• Advanced Skills: Joint locks and chokes that stop an attacker when escape isn’t an option
Details:
• $20/person
• Open to women 16+ (under 18 must come with a female guardian)
• Wear workout clothes, bring water, and get ready to move
• Note: Some topics, including sexual assault and coercion, will be discussed. These are tough but necessary conversations.
The seminar is led by female instructors who’ve been tested on the mats and know what works. They’ll give you tools you can rely on - not theory, not fluff.
