Considered by many to be one of the toughest challenge walks around, The Allendale Challenge is organised by North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team to raise valuable funds for the team. The 26 mile course is always very popular and should be a “must do” event for any keen walker or fell runner.
North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team deliver an essential search & rescue emergency service for the whole of the Northumbria Police area, responding to callouts 24/7, 365 days a year.
Made up entirely of professional and skilled volunteers, the service is a charity which receives no funding, relying upon kind donations (and entries to the Allendale Challenge!) to keep the team operational.
Entries are open for the 35th Allendale Challenge which will take place on Saturday 11th April 2026. The entry fee is a bargain at only £44 and all profits go towards the running costs of the team.
