Autumn Pond Maintenance Day

We would like to invite you to join us on this “Autumn Pond Maintenance Day” on 11th of October and please meet us in front of the Christ Church.

The reeds are getting longer and they need to be cut short again to regenerate new growth, improve water quality and provide a better habitat for our wildlife! So, this is a necessary maintenance task for the Pond and its wild life as part of twice a year activities.

We need volunteers to help collecting the cut reeds in the shallow water (after a local farmer has cut them), they are then taken to the side of the pond for collection and removal. Volunteers work in teams in the water or on the pond side. We may also prune the rear landscaping if we have enough time and volunteers. So, please do come along as we can get a lot more done with more help – “many hands do make for lighter work”! It is usually an enjoyable day and refreshments will be provided.

See you on Saturday 11th of October at 9:00 am to be able to start at 9:30 am. Anyone (18 years +) will be more than welcome, and your help will be most appreciated.
