Winter Tree ID with Liz Moss!

Join WVSU Extension Service on Saturday, January 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Kanawha State Forest Nature Center to learn how to identify trees in winter! We will be identifying specimens inside, but we may venture outside, so please be prepared for the weather.

We will cover basic winter tree identification clues, including leaf scar arrangement, twigs, buds, lenticels, bud scales, and more, and learn to use a dichotomous key. Go home armed with some confidence, a pocket tree ID guide, and a hand lens!
