Friends of Long Hunter Cookout and Campout- Fall 2025

Friends of Long Hunter State Park will have a Spring Cookout at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 3 in the Group Camping Area 3. Members of the Friends group and Naturalist Program meeting at the park are invited. Those who would like to spend the night camping are welcome. We can only have tents and hammocks, no RVs or trailers. This year, we will have camping on both Friday and Saturday nights for those who wish to camp for up to 2 nights. (Saturday night, campers are on their own for meal planning.)

The Friends group will provide hot dogs and buns to cook over an open fire. We'd like to ask those who attend to bring a side or dessert to share. Those who plan to camp can arrive after 3 p.m. to set up, and you are allowed to park your vehicle in Area 3. Additional parking will be available at the Ranger station. Follow the signs to the campsite.

Also, please note that a public bathroom will be available at the Ranger's Station, located within walking distance. We also recommend bringing a flashlight.
