THE CHERRY REDS are an almost all-original indie folk collaboration of female and gender diverse musicians, drawing on country, folk, gospel, and rock. Featuring songwriter Rachel Wilson on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, lead guitarist Poppy Turbiak, bass player/singer Heidi Sanghvi, singer Emily Hayes, and joining us for this gig, Bec Matthews on drums, their music tells homegrown stories of love and loss that are heartwarming, luscious, quirky and gritty. They share deep roots in community music, songwriting circles, folk and rock bands, and have a warm and inclusive performance style.
ROSE TURTLE ERTLER is a musician and instigator of community arts projects currently based in northern Lutruwita/Tas. She regularly performs solo - all her own carefully constructed songs performed on piano, baritone ukulele or any other instruments that fall in her path. This year, Rose released her latest solo album 'We Will Stand' featuring songs about various strands of activism that she feels strongly about.
Rose is also director of Mapatazi - a mass onslaught of women/non-binary electric guitarists and bass players.
