Sourdough Batch Day 🍞
Saturday, January 31 | 2–4pm
Henniker, NH
Limited to 8 people
Join us for a relaxed, hands-on sourdough gathering centered on sharing experience and sourcing flour as a group.
This is not a class or formal workshop. Think kitchen table energy, not classroom energy!
I’ll have dough and starter at various stages, and we’ll spend the afternoon working with it, sharing tips and recipes, and learning from each other as we divvy up our bulk buy of flour. Beginners are welcome, and so are experienced bakers! Everyone can contribute their own tips and experience.
A few notes:
• I’m not a sourdough expert — I’ve been baking for a couple of years and am still learning. This gathering is about collective knowledge, not instruction.
• We won’t be baking individual loaves for everyone to take home (the timing doesn’t allow for that), but I'll have dough at different stages so beginners can feel the process and see how it comes together. We’ll hopefully bake at least one loaf to share and enjoy together!
• I'll have plenty of sourdough starter to share with anyone who wants some — please bring your own small container for it.
Bulk flour details:
I’m purchasing 88 lbs of organic bread flour from Orchard Hill Breadworks in Alstead (sourced from a farm in Quebec) at $1/lb. Everyone can take home as much or as little as they like, or we can split it up evenly.
If there’s interest, we may also mill some grains together. If you have a grain mill you’d be open to bringing, let me know and I can look into a bulk grain order as well.
Kids are welcome (with parent supervision).
How to save your spot:
Please send me a direct message to confirm your spot! Space is limited to 8 people, and your spot is secured once you’ve messaged me (rather than just clicking “Going”).
Come for the flour, the tips, the laughs, and the community!
