Join us for a one-day CME conference on ECMO, offering 8.0 Credits. Learn about the latest advancements through lectures, panels, case presentations, and vendor exhibits. Attend in person or virtually!

Statement of Need: This symposium addresses critical practice gaps for the multidisciplinary team including inconsistent patient selection, cannulation and decannulation techniques, circuit management challenges, and ventilator management during ECMO. We will also focus on optimizing team communication and roles, minimizing complications, and improving post-ECMO transition and long-term outcomes through interactive case discussions and expert presentations. This course will address: 1)ECMO physiology, patient selection criteria, optimal medical management strategies, cannulation approaches and potential complications 2)Translating theoretical knowledge into practice 3)Communication and coordination within the multidisciplinary team and adherence to best practices.

Program Objectives: All Northwell CME activities are intended to improve patient care, safety and outcomes. At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to: 1)Demonstrate improved interprofessional communication and collaboration skills 2)Apply improved competency in consultation timing, ECMO patient selection, and circuit management strategies.

Target audience: This activity was planned by and for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, perfusionists and pharmacists. All other members of the health care team who are interested in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support are welcome to attend.

Joint Accreditation Statement: In support of improving patient care, Northwell is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), The Accreditation Council for Ph*rm*cy Ph*rm*cy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the health care team.

Credits Designation Statements:

Physicians: Northwell designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim credits only commensurate with their participation in this activity.

Nurses: Northwell designates this activity for 8.0 ANCC contact hours.

Pharmacists: Northwell designates this activity for a maximum of 8.0 ACPE credit hours.

Physician Assistants: Northwell has been authorized by the American Academy of PA's (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activity planned in accordance with AAPA CME criteria. This activity is designated for 8.0 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PA' should claim credit commensurate with extent of their participation.

Perfusionists: 9.6 Category I ABCP approved CEU's

American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) MOC Statement: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component (self-assessment), enables the participant to earn 8.0 MOC medical knowledge points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Americal Board of Surgery (ABS) Continuous Certification (CC) statement: Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn credit toward the CME requirement(s) of the American Board of Surgery's Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.

Registration fee includes: Breakfast, lunch, course materials, CME/Verification of attendance certificate and parking.

Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be granted beyond 7 days prior to event. In the event of a cancellation, a small processing fee will not be refunded. No refunds will be made for no-shows.
