Dr. Amanda Black, a board-certified psychiatrist practicing at Hutchinson Health, will expand upon the ideas she introduced in her impactful presentation at our Continuing Education Conference in September. Drawing on Jonathan Haidt’s book, "The Anxious Generation," Dr. Black will delve into how device ubiquity and unregulated Internet use affect mental health and overall wellbeing, especially in children and teens. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of these challenges, as well as practical strategies to mitigate negative outcomes.
Dr. Black, a University of South Dakota-trained psychiatrist, specializes in person-centered approaches to mental health. She is passionate about empowering individuals to address challenges through personalized treatment plans that harness their strengths. Her thoughtful and supportive approach ensures this presentation will leave participants feeling informed and equipped to support the mental health of children and adolescents in the digital age.
We look forward to seeing you there for this important and timely discussion!
Hosted by 5M4 DG Susan Krumrey and Zone 6 Lions Clubs of Bird Island, Buffalo Lake, Fairfax, Franklin, Hector, and Olivia.
