Hybrid Wilderness First Responder (WFR)
This course gives you the skills and confidence to handle real backcountry emergencies when help is hours or days away. With 30+ hours of interactive online learning and five days of intensive, hands-on training, you’ll learn how to assess patients, manage trauma, treat environmental emergencies, provide long-term care, and make solid decisions in low-resource settings.
Training happens through realistic scenarios, field exercises, and practical labs that build true competence—not just theory.
Ideal for guides, instructors, trip leaders, and experienced adventurers. No medical background required.
Graduates earn a 3-year Wilderness First Responder certification plus BLS-level CPR, recognized by the ACA, CAPCE, and the U.S. Coast Guard. This is the most respected wilderness medical credential in the industry.
