"Accused of Sundry Acts of Witchcraft: The Haverhill Accused"

Happening: Thursday, October 30 at 7 p.m. at the Buttonwoods Museum.

This talk is based on research of the six people of Haverhill who were accused of witchcraft. It explores a lesser known episode in Haverhill's history and gives voice to six women, unjustly accused and coerced into confessing. None of the six were ever acknowledged in Merrick's or Chase's histories.

In fact, both authors denied that anyone from Haverhill was condemned during the 1692 trials. It is intended to dispel misconceptions around the 1692 witch trials.
