Are you interested in 3D modeling or printing but don’t know where to start?
In this workshop sponsored by the Center for Digital Humanities, we will learn about basic and advanced tools of working in 3D, including photogrammetry and LiDAR scanning and advanced techniques for creating detailed 3D models from photographs and laser scans.
3D modeling has practical applications in many disciplines, including archival digitization, cultural heritage preservation, historical exploration, archaeological field work and other applications for innovative technology in humanities, business/industry and social sciences.
After this workshop, participants will understand the basics of the hardware and software available and will be encouraged to extend their knowledge in the Humanities 695: Digital Humanities Internship course running in the Winter Intersession (January 2026).
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 12:15-1 p.m., LAB 346. No registration is required.
