Beginner 1 "brand-new-beginner" 4-week progressive series

Join our 4-session Beginner 1 progressive series, perfectly crafted for brand-new dancers eager to start their West Coast Swing journey. In this fun, supportive series, you’ll learn the essential steps, patterns, and connection skills that make this dance feel so smooth, stylish, and effortless. No partner or prior dance experience needed. Just show up ready to move and have a great time!

Pre-registration is required to reserve your spot. Throughout the series, we’ll explore foundational 6- and 8-count patterns (left side pass, right side pass/underarm turn, push break/sugar push, and basic whip), introduce stretch and compression technique, and teach you how to confidently start the dance. It’s everything you need to get comfortable on the floor and excited for what comes next!

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of class to check-in and change shoes.

$60 for 4-session beginner series. Pre-payment instructions listed on the sign-up form. Payment by cash can also be made at the door. We appreciate pre-payment because this speeds class check-in.

Missed class policy: If a student has pre-paid for a 4-week session and misses one or more lessons during the session, 309 Westies will provide a discount voucher to the student for the amount of missed lessons to use toward enrolling in a future 4-week session. Cash refunds will not be given for missed lessons.

Other Info:
You will need flexible, smooth soled shoes that stay on your feet. Dress shoes with a leather sole work great. No flip flops or slides. No sneakers and boots with big treads that grip the floor.
Only clean shoes allowed on the dance floor. Please bring your dance shoes to change into, or we have boot brush to clean your shoes.
Wear clothes that you feel comfortable moving in.
A water bottle encouraged.
