Think all mushrooms are safe if they look edible? Think again! Join us for a fascinating and potentially life-saving workshop focused on the fine line between foraging success and toxic mistakes.

Led by an Dr. Ellen Holste, PCCI’s Research and Community Engagement Manager, an experienced local mycologist, this event will cover:

Mushroom Identification Basics – Learn about common edible, medicinal, and poisonous varieties.
Common Misconceptions – Discover look-alike species that fool foragers.
Safety Guidelines – Get tips on responsible foraging, including tools, ethical practices, and regional regulations.
Hands-On Examples – Examine real specimens to sharpen your identification skills.
Q&A Session – Bring your questions (or photos of your mystery mushrooms) and get advice.
