Led by an Dr. Ellen Holste, PCCI’s Research and Community Engagement Manager, an experienced local mycologist, this event will cover:
Mushroom Identification Basics – Learn about common edible, medicinal, and poisonous varieties.
Common Misconceptions – Discover look-alike species that fool foragers.
Safety Guidelines – Get tips on responsible foraging, including tools, ethical practices, and regional regulations.
Hands-On Examples – Examine real specimens to sharpen your identification skills.
Q&A Session – Bring your questions (or photos of your mystery mushrooms) and get advice.
