Waypoint Crew brings together a close-knit crew of outdoor lovers and adventure seekers (20s–49s) to explore epic routes across London, the UK, and beyond.

This hike takes us from Hassocks along the stunning South Downs Way, a ridge of rolling grassland with panoramic views inland and out to the sea near Brighton.

After climbing to the ridge, the trail levels out, offering a mostly gentle, enjoyable hike with small ups and downs until we reach the historic town of Lewes. Our adventure ends at Abyss Brewery, where you can enjoy discounted drinks and tasty food from Boho Baja, including tacos, fries, and burgers.

🥾 Meet Your Guide:

Meet Abi – A fellow weekend warrior and qualified Mountain Leader who prides herself on cramming as much adventure as possible into ‘weekends + annual leave’. When she’s not leading hikes for Waypoint Crew, you’ll find her hosting women’s adventure holidays, teaching expedition skills to DofE groups or putting in the miles on her road bike!

🥾 Meet Your Guide: Beth

Founder of Waypoint Crew and a qualified Lowland Leader, Beth is all about outdoorsy weekends and activities that end with a cold pint(s). She built Waypoint Crew as a space for people who love adventure and a laugh!

🕙 Event Schedule:

• 10:10am – Meet & Greet: Meet outside Hassocks Station to connect with your fellow hikers and kick off the day. If you’re coming by train, there are regular services from London Victoria (the 10:08am train arrives just in time!). Please note, facilities are limited at Hassocks, so plan accordingly. Make sure to get your return train ticket from Lewes in advance.
• 10:30am – Hike Begins: We’ll set off promptly, so be ready to start on time. If you’re running late, contact Abi Devaney or Beth Robb via the event WhatsApp group.
• 1:00pm (approx.) – Picnic Break: Time for a well-earned rest and a picnic! Don’t forget to bring your packed lunch to enjoy along the trail.
• 4:30pm – Finish at Abyss Brewery: The hike concludes at Abyss Brewery & Tap Room, where you can enjoy discounted drinks. Grab some tasty food too from Boho Baja, serving tacos, fries, and burgers – the perfect end to a day on the South Downs!
