Gadzooks Gaming - Hobby Seminar: Make Your Own Dice
Tuesday, December 16 - 1PM - 8 PM. Please select a timeslot from the dropdown menu.
Reservations are required so everyone has space to work and no one feels rushed. It takes approximately an hour per set of dice.
Ready to take your game to the next level? Let's face it, we are all dice gremlins. Why not upgrade your collection with a set you made!
How it works:
What you do:
Manage your expectations. This is a seminar intended to teach you about making dice. It is possible (although unlikely) that all of your attempts will fail. You will be given enough resin for several attempts but it's important to listen to coaches to increase your chances of success.
You may use the provided pigments and inclusions, but please be careful. We are using resin that requires exposure to light to harden. If you add too much color, the resin will fail.
Mix and pour resin into the mould in thin layers.
Wait for the resin to cure under special lamps.
Wait for the resin to cure for a few more minutes after the dice come out of the mold.
At home, you can "ink" or color-in the numbers with your supplies at your leisure.
Enjoy your dice!
What we do:
Provide molds. You will have a choice of an oversized D6, a standard RPG set, an oversized D20, or a set of multiple D6's.
Coach you through the process of adding any inclusions, closing your molds, mixing colors, and finally pouring the resin into the mold.
Place the molds under special lamps for you.
What's Included:
Access to molds.
Resin.
A selection of pigments.
Coaching.
What's Not Included:
Finishing to include removing excess resin, polishing, or coloring of numbers. Your dice will come out of the mold with some extra resin attached. It can be easily trimmed, but might leave imperfections.
Intended Audience: Adults
Reservations Highly Recommended. Some folks may finish early, so we may be able to accommodate walk-ins, but there is no guarantee.
