Step into a deeply personal journey of heritage, art, and ancestral memory in "The Visions Of A Real Stoner: Seven Other Dwarfs & Things Outside The Box", a solo exhibition by Ted Strandt.

This show weaves together the threads of Ted’s Danish lineage — a legacy of stonecutters tracing back to the 1700s on the island of Fyn — with his own life path as an artist and carver. From his grandmother Johanne Hansen’s emigration to the U.S. in 1921 and her creative spirit as a dressmaker, to the influence of his mother’s artistry in his childhood, the exhibition reveals the unfolding of a destiny shaped by generations.

A pivotal moment came during Ted’s pilgrimage to Denmark, where visits to the family farm and the legendary Jelling Stones bridged the physical and metaphysical. Touching the ancient Rune Stones carved in the Viking Age, he felt an unexplainable pull — a mystical transmission from the hands of past carvers to his own. It was there the seed for Seven Other Dwarfs was born.

Through sculpture and story, Ted Strandt invites you into the fabric of his soul. His work is both homage and evolution — a continuation of legacy, shaped by hands, heart, and history.
