We Have a New Archbishop — And He’s Coming to Celebrate Mass at Our Parish!

The Archdiocese of New Orleans has a new leader.

The Vatican has announced that the Most Rev. James F. Checchio has formally succeeded Archbishop Gregory Aymond upon his retirement. Archbishop Checchio had been serving as Coadjutor Archbishop since last September after arriving from the Diocese of Metuchen, New Jersey, where he served as bishop since 2016.

We are honored to share that Archbishop Checchio will celebrate Mass at our parish on Saturday, February 21 at the 4:00 PM Vigil Mass.

If you typically attend one of our Sunday Masses, we invite you to consider coming to the 4:00 PM Mass that weekend to personally welcome our new Archbishop.

A reception will follow in MHC Hall.
