Pre-registration is required and children must be accompanied by an adult. Free parking, porta-potties, campfire, hot drinks, soups, and members to tell you about our activities!
Lessons and gear rental: Sessions start at 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 1:30 PM. To register for a session, click the red Check Availability link, then choose your lesson time and boot size. If registering more than one person, choose the boot size for each person in your group. At the checkout, enter the ski color code that best fits each person in your group and give us a brief description of everyone’s skiing experience.
Arrive at your session start time to get fitted with your gear. After gearing up, we will introduce the basics of cross-country skiing and then split into groups for a 1-hour lesson. Thanks to Hyperspud Sports, University of Idaho’s Outdoor Program, and generous club members for loaning us the gear for Free Ski Day.
What to wear/bring: Cross-country skiing is aerobic. Dress for winter hiking conditions with layers to take off as you warm up. We recommend:
Location: The Palouse Divide Nordice Ski area has multiple names on google maps, both Palouse Divide Nordic Ski Area (recgovnpsdata) and White Pine Pass Nordic Skiing off Highway 6 (White Pine Drive) are correct.
Parking: Parking is free for this event. For the rest of the season, an Idaho Park-’N-Ski pass is required: $7 for a 3-day pass or $25 for the season. Passes can be purchased at Hyperspud Sports in Moscow or online at Cross-Country (XC) Skiing | Department of Parks and Recreation
