BONNACH: Bake and Make
Join us for a warm, relaxed afternoon with Frances Mary Driscoll, Tobar an Dualchais Artist in Residence. Frances is a Glasgow-based multidisciplinary artist and fluent Gaelic speaker whose playful work blends collage, image and text to explore how culture is borrowed, remade and passed on. She’s particularly interested in language and how words and images don’t always tell the same story.
This event is a hands-on celebration centred around bonnach: (n. masc. /bɔNəx/, gen. & pl. -aich), bannock, savoury cake
We’ll bake bonnaich, chat about cooking for celebration days, swap recipes and stories over soup, and collage together - you’ll also have the chance to create your own bonnach card. Suitable for all ages.
