Square Dance & Social Dance on the Green (FREE)

Join a lively evening of music and movement led by a four-piece Vermont band and dance caller Sarah Gibson.

The evening starts with an introductory lesson, then flows into dances drawn from traditional American social dance styles, including contra dances from New England, square dances from the Southern Appalachians, and reels with roots in Ireland and Scotland. Sarah teaches gender-free dances (traditionally, participants had either a 'lady' or 'gent' role), ensuring that all are welcome. The event is open to first-time dancers of all ages.
