Community Discussion: On Safe Spaces

We are excited to announce that we will soon be starting the Kwir Map Project, a comprehensive digital resource for the LGBTQ+ community in Malta focused on verified safe spaces and reliable services.

Before we start the project, we need your voice to define safety. This community workshop is a crucial starting point where we will collaboratively define the core criteria for what qualifies a venue or service as a verified "Safe Space" on the map.

What We Will Discuss:
• What is True Safety? We will define what 'feeling safe' means, identify the 'instant red flags' that make a space unsafe, and discuss the specific needs of diverse groups like TGD and neurodiverse community members.
• Space & Service Requirements: We will determine the essential physical features (like accessibility) and what makes staff interactions respectful and affirming in all settings.
• Trust and Reliability: We will discuss the non-negotiable criteria that are important for any space to be included on the Kwir Map.

Your Safety is Our Priority: This will be a confidential and facilitated space.
