WEATHER HUNTERS is a new animated series from PBS KIDS® for children K - 2nd Grade created by Emmy-winning weatherman and host from TODAY, Al Roker. Each episode is a 22-minute story featuring eight-year-old weather wiz and force of nature Lily Hunter and her family. The Hunter family explores and reports on everything from rain, snow, dew, thunder, lightning, ice and fog to more extreme weather, like hurricanes. This series is about inspiring a new generation to explore the incredible world of weather and investigate its role in their lives.
Celebrity voices include Al Roker as dad Al Hunter, Holly Robinson Peete as mom Dot Hunter, Sheryl Lee Ralph as neighbor Ms. Joyce and LeVar Burton as Al Hunter’s grandfather Wallace Reed Hunter.
WEATHER HUNTERS is PBS KIDS’ first series all about weather, designed to nurture children’s curiosity in the natural world and encourage scientific thinking. Each episode focuses on key topics in Earth Science and meteorology and spotlights technology integration to illustrate the connection between weather, humans and the environment.
This event is free. All ages are invited. Kids will enjoy a fun weather-related activity along with the screening.
