**John Otway – Rock and Roll’s Greatest Failure**

For one night only, John Otway will be gracing The Victoria Hall with his presence.
I am not sure if the Victoria Hall have had many acts that have performed over 5000 shows or sold out The Albert Hall and Shepherds Bush Empire; never mind starring in their own feature length movie (search "Otway" on Netflix) but there is always a first for everything.
John, a master of self-promotion, has had 2 Top 20 hits, although for 25 years he was a one-hit wonder, before releasing "Bunsen Burner" in 2002 as a follow up to "Really Free" which hit the charts in 1977. In 1999, a BBC poll voted "Beware of the Flowers Cause I'm Sure They're Gonna Get You, Yeah" the seventh-greatest lyric of all time - just behind "Yesterday" by the Beatles, and ahead of The Moody Blues' "Nights in White Satin" in 9th place.
His act will include all (both) of his hits, together with quite a few numbers that weren't hits, plus various anecdotes that will make this a night to remember.
The doors and bar (well-stocked and fairly priced) will open simultaneously at 7pm, with John taking the stage at 8pm. There will be an interval to allow you to recharge your glasses and the show will finish by approximately 10:15pm.
