On Sunday 4th January 2026, come and join us for the annual Summer Challenge event. This is a sequence of six 1-hour events linking up with each other, starting at 3pm on Sunday 4th Jan. You are able to join in as many or as few of the 1-hour runs as you like, and there will be a prize for everyone who completes all six runs in sequence on the day as per the schedule, as well as overall men’s and women’s winner prizes for the highest points totals. The start locations for the six runs are as follows, with each run finishing at the starting point of the next run:
3pm: Northshore Hamilton Ferry Terminal
4pm: Sir Leo Hielscher Bridges - Midpoint (optional)
5pm: Apollo Road Ferry Terminal
6pm: Hawthorne Ferry Terminal
7pm: Mowbray Park Ferry Terminal
8pm: Sydney Street Ferry Terminal
Finish 9pm: Teneriffe Ferry Terminal
Note: the 4pm stopoff point is optional - you can choose to do the first two legs as a single stage and use CityCats to avoid having to go over the Sir Leo Hielscher Bridges if you prefer
I will hand out maps for each run at each designated start point. I'll be there 5 mins before the hour, and you can leave on the next run any time up to the hour. Everyone will therefore finish before 9pm on the last run. You'll have a full 60 minutes for each run, but if you use the full 60 minutes you won't have any planning time for the next run. If you get to a start location more than 5 minutes past the hour, I will probably have left, so make sure you’re on time!
You can use public transport to get back to where you started. If you do the full challenge, there is a ferry service from Teneriffe leaving at 21:25 which gets us back to Northshore Hamilton at 21:38. Another good option is to hire a scooter to get between start/finish locations. You could also choose to have a break in the middle for 1 or 2 hours and rejoin the fun later in the day!
The entry fee is $8 per person (free for U14s), regardless of how much of the event you are planning to do. Here is the sign-up link:

You will be able to find the 6 maps in the MapRun app, in the folder Queensland > Rogaine > Summer Challenge 4
