SLAMMIN SALMON
Based in Waterville, Maine, Slammin’ Salmon aka John Malcolm is a co-founder of Heartspace and longtime fixture in the underground dance music scene. He began selecting tracks for the legendary Sparkle Mafia parties in the late 2000s, and quickly found his sound within the deep house and techno underground in Portland, ME. The Beltek Foundation and the AV Club shaped both his taste and ethos as a DJ committed to community, rhythm, and vibe.
From dirty basements to mountaintop sunrises, Johnny has rinsed crowds at some of New England’s most iconic gatherings. He’s thrown down many times at Harry’s Hill, Beltek, and countless one-night parties across ME, NH, RI, and MA. Known for his ability to flex between ethereal downtempo and peak-hour burners, his selections ride the line between soulful, heady, and dancefloor-hypnotic.
