The Hallettsville Brahma News Network(HBNN)was established eight years ago to provide news for both Hallettsville High School and the surrounding community. Along with the Brahma Yearbook and the Brahma Lariat, we strive to set the standard in student journalism and emphasize the importance of delivering accurate, unbiased and factual media.
True journalism is more essential than ever in today's world. On February 26th, Student Press Freedom Day, we invite you to visit our student newsroom and learn more about student media. This day serves as a reminder of the vital role student journalists play in shaping campus culture, delivering crucial information, and upholding free speech.
During your visit, you will meet our dedicated team of reporters, editors, and photographers. You will see how we identify key issues, investigate them and craft stories that resonate with our audience. You will also get an inside look at how we manage ethical dilemmas, meet deadlines, and collaborate to ensure accurate and meaningful news.
In addition to witnessing our daily work, you will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and rewards of being a student journalist. Our work is essential to preserving the right to report the truth in a world where press freedom is increasingly threatened. We hope this experience will inspire you to appreciate the importance of journalism in shaping an informed and empowered society.
Our journalism classes meet daily, and we welcome you to visit on February 26th between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Please RSVP for your visit by Monday, February 23rd, so we can make appropriate arrangements for your visit.
