Our beloved Phroggy has had some major health issues come to light. This condition has had them in immense pain every day with years of no solutions from doctors. To put it into the most simplest terms possible, their stomach has been in an incorrect position since they were born, causing obstructions/blockages in different parts of the digestive system. This condition is so rare to find in an adult (as its typically found as a child and corrected before the body fully develops). This surgery itself is rare, which includes at least 2-3 months of recovery time, and being off work for that long can seriously uproot a life when it's at its most vulnerable state. On top of all of this, their referrals that were once denied are now being resent as urgent as there is likely comorbid conditions underlying waiting to be found. This surgery is set to be this winter.
The purpose of this benefit is to ensure this incredible community member has a peaceful and relaxing recovery. The money will ensure that while they are off work, that their housing, bills, and food are secured. They will also require items for accessibility and health care , such a a pregnancy pillow and bed wedge to prevent secondary back pain from being in bed, prescriptions, bandages and other healing equipment. They've likely taken your picture, had you hugging a PK sub, or was there for you when you needed a friend. Lets be there for them!!
