Introduction to Fight Direction - Instructor: Karen Bassett

A physically illustrated workshop on the role of fight direction, the fight director, and physical techniques that create the illusion of violence on stage. This animated master class introduces learners to the performance of safe, ability aligned, and effective fight choreography for the stage.
Karen Bassett is an Atlantic based theatre maker, passionate advocate and creator in stage violence design. She works with unarmed combat, bladed weapons, and is particularly celebrated for designing found object fights. She holds more than forty production credits in fight direction including multiple shows with Neptune Theatre and other professional regional theatres.
