A new LSM adventure into a Victorian shopping centre!
This is going to have traders of all sorts, just like the ones you find at usual LSM events.
The market itself is open from 8am - 4.30pm, our event will be trading from 9am to 4pm.
Because this is in a Victorian market, there's obviously no admission charge. I won't be running a tearoom of my own, there are plenty of places in there for you to have a great choice of what to eat and drink. I'll get in touch with the cafe and the cake / coffee stall to see if they'd be up for doing some sort of offer for the day.
There's no coffee jousting nor an owl flight on this occasion.
Visiting Halifax Borough Market for the first time feels a bit like taking a step back in time. This award-winning market was first opened in 1896 and has been the beating heart of the town ever since. Its Victorian splendour can be seen throughout – on the ornate clock-tower, in the glass roof and on the intricate carvings. Décor and atmosphere combine to create a shopping experience that just cannot be matched.
As well as the market itself, Halifax has lots of shops, plenty of parking - check it all out on their website here

A two minute walk from the Piece Hall.
A five minute walk from the train/bus stations and Eureka children's museum.
TRADER INFO:
I am always delighted to find new people doing something weird or different that we haven't had before. Although the label says "steampunk" the traders generally cover steampunk, Victorian, military, gothic, fantasy, dark and spooky, paranormal, holistic, spiritual, faery, pagan, LARP, roleplaying, historical, heritage crafts, Sci-Fi, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, geeky, nerdy, comics, cheeky, gaming, handmade or sourced elsewhere, modelling (railway and dollshouse), a bit of Boardwalk Empire/Game of Thrones thrown in, vintage, alternative (but NOT in a fetish/burlesque way), curios, oddities or just plain weird :)
All my usual traders are welcomed, if anyone can sell alcohol it needs to be as an offlicence (take out as sealed bottles etc) and they will need to apply for a TENS licence from the council.
All traders must have their own PLi.
There are 2 corner doubles (£60) and 12 single pitches laid out on the event space which is next to the cafe. These have tables supplied (£35 each table). I've done a floor plan for this area, you can't fit in anything additional. There's also chairs available.
I'll see if we can accommodate any other traders with their own tables somewhere else in the market as there some available units. Might be able to possibly fit some around the newly uncovered ornate clock.
All tables will have a 3ft space behind to fit chairs and stock and will be based on a standard 6 x 2ft size. You are NOT able to over extend on the size pitch you book.
Loading in can be done from 4 different points. There are doors which lead directly onto different streets on all sides of the market - Albion Street, Southgate, Russell Street and Market Street.
These might have yellow lines so advise having someone with you. You're best using a trolley of some sort which you will need to supply. I'll be finding out which one is the closest door to our area.
