Give it a Spin, an Intro to Clay.

This 2 hour class is a great way to try clay without the commitment of a 6 week class. Have you always wondered what it’s like to throw on a potter’s wheel? This is your chance to find out. Sign up with a special person or a group of friends for a fun experience.

Class begins with a focus on centering, followed by how to open, pull up walls, and form a cylinder. Forms and functions will be introduced and demonstrated. No experience is needed. All tools and material are provided. Depending on skill and ability, some students may make a pot or two. After clean up, those who have made a pot they wish to keep may choose a glaze color. Work will be dried, trimmed, glazed and fired in the following weeks and students will be called when their pots are ready to pick up. This can take up to 6 weeks.

Open to anyone age 16 and up, age 10-15 if accompanied by a registered adult. Students should bring an apron or towel. Cost is $55 per person. Click the ticket link to register on the website.
