Ageism is prevalent and harmful. Its implications touch health, social and economic domains for older adults and our communities. What does ageism look like? Why does ageism exist? How can we work to combat it in our lives, programs, and systems?
Join us for a thought-provoking discussion on ageism as a barrier to aging well and what we can do about it.
Panel will wrap up around 8 pm followed by light refreshments and informal networking.
This event is being presented by the Nova Scotia Centre on Aging, Kathryn Allen Weldon Chair in Alzheimer’s Research and Halifax Public Libraries.
This event is in recognition of United Nations’ International Day of Older Persons (Oct 1), National Seniors Day in Canada (Oct 1) and Nova Scotia Seniors Week (Oct 2-9).
